The International Space Station welcomed three new crew member who quickly adapted to life in orbit, engaging in scientific research and station maintenance, ranging from studying plant life in space to ensuring the operational health of the station.

Astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Willmore are set to give an update on their mission, about one week since the Starliner space capsule returned to Earth without them.

Having artificial gravity would be incredibly useful to any astronaut who happens to have evolved and grown up in a gravitational field. Living in low-gravity environments for extended periods of time takes its toll on astronauts and cosmonauts, who may develop everything from puffy faces to baby feet, and that is just for starters.

Crew-9's SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off at 2:05 p.m. EDT Thursday from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
