AUGUSTA-- Maine gun safety advocates are launching a new campaign to put the decision whether to implement a red flag law in the hands of voters next November.

The campaign was created to promote an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO), also known as "the red flag law," to be put in place in Maine. If this law passes, it will allow families and law enforcement to request from the court the temporary removal of dangerous weapons from family members in a crisis.
