Overnight, Ukrainian drones attacked one of the largest arsenals in Russia, causing a powerful detonation in the town of Toropets in Russia's Tver Oblast, a source in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) told the Kyiv Independent.

Local authorities have partially evacuated residents of Toropets in Russia’s Tver Oblast after a mass drone attack overnight caused a large fire, Tver Oblast Governor Igor Rudenya claimed on Sept. 18.

Residents in a village in the Tikhoretsk region of Krasnodar Krai, Russia, are being evacuated. Overnight, Ukrainian drones attacked a nearby ammunition depot, causing detonations. Local media are publishing footage showing massive explosions.

Drones an artillery and missile arsenal in the village of Oktyabrskoye, the Tver oblast north of Moscow, Russian authorities have reported although Ukraine is yet to comment. A missile and artillery arsenal was hit, which was used to store a large range of ammunition, according to Russian information resource ASTRA.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Sept. 21 that its forces shot down and intercepted 101 Ukrainian drones overnight, while explosions were reported at ammunition depots in Krasnodar Krai and Tver Oblast.

Ukraine's air force said on Thursday it had shot down all 42 drones and one of four missiles used by Russia during overnight attacks. Air defences went into operation in nine Ukrainian regions, the air force said in a statement on the Telegram messaging app nearly 31 months after Russia's full-scale invasion.
