On 15 August 1947, when Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was sworn in as the first Governor-General of Pakistan, Mian Abdul Rashid, as the most senior Muslim judge, administered oath of office to him.
During Ramadan, many famous mosques in Quetta also arrange sehri and iftar meals for the community. These include the Hazara Town Mosque, Liaquat Bazaar Mosque, and the Al-Haj Mosque, among others.
