The Met Office has extended a yellow rain warning to Monday, as Britain braces for a rainy weekend. Sunday will see heavy outbreaks of rain moving northwards through the morning across southern England and much of Wales.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms covering a large area of southern England and Wales. The weather warning will last from 12pm until 8pm on Friday, before another takes its place from 1am until 11:59pm on Saturday.

Motorists and commuters are being warned of widespread fog which could affect travel across the North West on Monday. A yellow weather warning from the Met Office begins at 05:00 BST on Monday and is expected to last until 10:00.
