A furniture and appliance retailer is closing all of its stores following the bankruptcy of its parent company.

American Freight begins store closing sales
"Our goal is to deliver outstanding value to customers during this full chain closing sale," said Ian Fredericks, CEO of Hilco Consumer-Retail, which is handling the closing sale. "Everything is on sale and must be sold, and we recommend shopping early for the best selection." Financing and delivery are still available, but all sales are final.

American Freight, an appliance, furniture and mattress store located at 55 Ludwig Drive in Fairview Heights, has apparently closed. The discount retailer’s parent company, Franchise Group, Inc., announced Nov. 3 that it will close the entire chain as part of a voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
American Freight to close 328 stores, including 10 in SoCal
In Northern California and the Central Valley, American Freight will permanently lock the doors at stores in Fresno, Modesto, Rancho Cordova, Sacramento and San Leandro. In Southern California, the company will close stores in Cerritos, Corona, La Mesa, Oceanside, Ontario, Palmdale, San Diego, Santa Ana, Torrance and West Covina.

American Freight Appliances and Furniture recently “commenced store closing sales at all of its 328 locations and online,” according to a Wednesday, Nov. 6, news release from Hilco Consumer-Retail, which is managing the sales for American Freight.
