Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is set to address his home state Friday afternoon following his loss on the Democratic presidential ticket.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz returned to his home state to offer a sobering message about his election loss. In his first public remarks since he was spotted teary-eyed at Vice President Kamala Harris ' concession speech , Walz acknowledged the pain he and other Democrats are feeling.

The governor also took time to speak directly to voters who might be worried about what comes next under a Donald Trump presidency. Walz says as long as he’s governor, he’ll work to protect the rights of Minnesotans, including the right to an abortion, adding that there’s still more work to do.
