Tropical Storm Sara continues to move westward along the north coast of Honduras, the National Hurricane Center said.

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Melbourne continue to monitor the storm as it crosses over land in Central America.

Details regarding rain intensity and timing for next week are still unknown, but Sara could produce heavy rain for parts of Florida by the middle to end of next week.

The weather may begin to deteriorate by late Wednesday or Thursday as Sara’s leftovers begin to turn to the northeast and pick up speed. As it moves closer it will start spreading showers and possibly thunderstorms into the Suncoast. Models differ on timing, but this would be the general drift of the forecast.

ATLANTA, Georgia — Data from Air Force Hurricane Hunters indicate winds on Tropical Depression Nineteen have increased, and now Tropical Storm Sara has formed. Maximum sustained winds are 45 mph with higher gusts. Tropical Storm-force winds extend outward 70 miles from the center.
